The description is directly from the one I've made on Thingiverse :
One day after (HI), I post a new improved version of my original design.
This parts are designed to make a protection for the knobs of the Yaesu FT-817 or FT-818, using the stock screws and you don't need to adjust screws length.
You can print the legs separately, which is removable when you move for mobile use. If the attachement of the legs is a bit loose, you can adjust it with a soldering iron to degrade the shape of the bit to be have some friction.
There are holes to put the belt on also and it's working very well.
Also, when you buy a stock FT-818 (maybe also FT-817), you have a metal part to attach the mic somewhere. I've made a version of the flange to screw directly the metal support in order to put the mic when you are mobile. Tested today on field, it's very convinient and useful.
I recommend to print the flange with standard settings (0.20mm layer height for example) but the legs with thinner layers (0.10mm) in order to have a good surface as it's not flat.
The parts are quite tough and thick (10mm for the flanges), maybe it's a bit overkill but it's also an insurance in case of shocks.
Quite simple, but efficient !
